This is my story; this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.

These lyrics from the chorus of Blessed Assurance remind us of the importance of telling, with our lips and with our lives, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that he fills our lives with goodness and grace as we abide in His love. Indeed, this is our story; this is our song.

At FPC, we have been sharing our stories for the better part of this past year: in worship, at Wednesday family night, in Sunday school, throughout our GiFT weekend last summer, at Camp Hopewell and Montreat, during Interfaith mission projects; wherever we are as members of FPC, we have a story of faith, hope and love to tell. This page in our website is devoted to sharing some of those stories. As you hear them, think of where they connect with your own story, and spend some time thinking about your story. Tell it to yourself as you thank God for your story in prayer. And then, don’t be afraid to share it with another.

Your story may be just the one that gives a friend, neighbor or even stranger a reason to believe in God’s love and mercy in Jesus Christ, and to trust His grace & mercy to make a difference in their own lives. As our church’s son, Rev. Dr. Christopher Crotwell told us in his sermon on 8/30/15: “First Presbyterian is a church that doesn’t hide the truth that God‘s message of love is meant for ALL. Be the church that you have been placed here to be!” Let’s share that truth. Let’s tell our story!
